I've had some pretty amazing experiences in the years I've been a photographer. Most of them happen very quickly and unexpectedly. Honestly, we make our own luck by being observant of our environment and the life that intermingles its way through our time spent in it.
I've seen several owls over the years and heard many more. Elusive and curious, they are the masters of camouflage. While watching dragonflies at play on a pond near dusk I was gifted with the visit of two barred owls. They each took their turn bathing in the shallow end of the pond, no doubt cooling off and feeling much refreshed after a hot day. I felt quite honoured and privileged to have shared this moment of their lives.
